About Heather

As the only child — and grandchild — on both sides of her family, Heather Joelle Boneparth knows all about the pressure to perform. Now, in her thirties, she is a recovering corporate attorney, author, and mother of two. Her essays are featured in HuffPost, Insider, Scary Mommy, Motherly, and more. Her newsletter, Our Tiny Rebellions, searches for greater meaning in our subtle wins and losses.

Heather is also the wife and business partner of Doug Boneparth, a millennial money expert whose firm and brand she helped build from inception. During her first maternity leave, they co-authored The Millennial Money Fix: What You Need to Know About Budgeting, Debt, and Finding Financial Freedom, a primer on managing six figures of student loan debt without living in your parent’s basement and reaching financial freedom on your own terms.

She would know, because the book is about her.

Heather endured the Great Recession while navigating her chaotic career as a young lawyer in Manhattan. Crippling debt and hostile work environments were only part of her problem: she wasn’t living the life she wanted. She was barely living at all. But by conquering toxic relationships with money and people, she found the confidence to leave private law firm practice and explore what makes her happy. She fell in love with time and rediscovered her writing. Currently, Heather is working on her second book with Doug about navigating the power struggles over money in relationships. They also spearhead The Joint Account, a newsletter helping couples talk about money.
